How would you feel if your grandparents had worked hard their whole lives just so that they could pass on their small family farming business to your parents? As the years go by, your parents invest not just their time, but every cent they have into that farm. They build a house, they buy equipment, and they invest in building infrastructure. They know that all their hard work will eventually pay off when they can pass this family legacy over to you. Your grandparents are old and long since retired. Your parents are getting older and are hoping to pass on the farm very soon. From such humble beginnings, the farm now produces food that feeds a nation, gives people employment, and is the very embodiment of the American dream. Then one day you get a phone call. You rush to the farm. Once there, the horror of the situation hits home. A group of people who have no right to that land have invaded the property. Your 90 year old grandparents have had their eyes cut out and have been burned alive. Your parents were tied up with barbed wire and forced to watch as your sister was repeatedly raped and then strangled to death with a belt. Your mother was also raped and then stabbed to death, and your father had his genitals cut off, he was gutted like a pig while still alive and then had his heart cut out. The family pets have also been killed, and the entire house destroyed. All the crops have been set on fire, and the employees have been murdered. On the wall outside is a message saying ‘Kill the Boer’ which means kill the white farmer. The police tell you there is nothing they can do and don’t even bother to investigate. How would you feel?

Every single day in South Africa, white farmers and citizens are being attacked and murdered because of their race. Young white girls are being raped and murdered. Babies are being killed. The South African government, the executive, the politicians and the judiciary are not just allowing these murders to happen, they are actively promoting it and not punishing the criminals. They sing songs at political rallies where they call for machine guns and sing about killing white citizens.

The government has even voted to change our constitution to say that it is legal for black citizens to take the property of white citizens without compensation. This has already begun! Those who do not want to give their property are being attacked and murdered.

A few organisations have tried to use diplomacy, the courts and protest actions, but the murders have intensified.

A few international countries such as Australia have voiced their concerns and called the South African government ‘uncivilized’, but the reality is that if we do not get actual assistance, there is going to be a massacre.
