The manuscript for Jerry Haywire is complete. The story is a psychological biography of a young sports agent who faces many life challenges. Will he be defeated or will he overcome the Bugmen?

This campaign is being put in place to finalize the manuscript (professional line editing, professional proofreading, professional formatting) and publish the first (limited) print run of the novel in Hardcover and Paperback.

The current manuscript is approximately 160,000 words.

If the author meets his goal, the funds will be used as follows:

Professional Line editing and proofreading to finalize the manuscript: $3,000
Format print & ebook ready manuscript: $1,000
Print first (Limited) run of the novel (Hardcover and Paperback): $1,000
Marketing for the novel (social media campaigns): $3,000

In the event that the goal is not met, the funds will be used in the order listed above and the author will cover any unfunded costs to get through the first print run personally.

The Impact

This campaign will get F. C. Fox’s first novel into print. Jerry Haywire tells the story of a young sports agent who faces people who come to be known as Bugmen. The agent encounters degeneracy and the Pozz. He stands up to rape culture when no one else will. By necessity, he becomes an entomologist and learns about the Bugmen and the Bug Wranglers. Will the agent win the fight? Will he go down fighting, but in a blaze of glory? Can he stop the rise of the Bugmen?

Risks & Challenges

The plan is to make a limited, high quality print run of Jerry Haywire. Then, the author will either sign with a traditional publisher or publish a larger run of the novel. This campaign gives the author’s supporters the chance to obtain a limited, collectible version of the book while helping the author to cover his upfront costs. This will allow the author to maintain control of the book’s publication schedule and promotion rather than sign over to a traditional publishing house.

The author’s timeline would provide for delivery of perks within 90 days of the end of this campaign. That said, please be aware that it could take up to an additional 60 days for physical delivery of perks. Thank you for your support!
